It's pretty clear by now that we can't wait for Barack Obama, or the Democrats, to save us. But the one thing that might turn things around is an honest-to-God mass movement—something on the scale of the civil rights movement or the antiwar movement—built around a vision of an economy that works for all of us, not just the top 2%."
I agree that our government isn't going to solve all of our problems. We have to do it at the grassroots level and that means all of us who are part of the middle and lower classes. The rich are not going to change and Washington certainly isn't, Republicans or Democrats......so it's up to us, the people of this country we all care about.
This is one of the reasons why I started f-bom and why I strongly believe in keeping as much of the production of our products here within the United States. By keeping the design, development, testing, and manufacturing here in the United States, we keep the control of money here. We also gain more political power when a smaller company with good strong moral values grows and proves that manufacturing can be done inland and it doesn't need to be outsourced like most of the bicycle industry is doing right now.
So when you hear about job loss and all these rich CEOs, CIOs, top dollar shareholders, and so on getting richer while the middle class keeps getting poorer. Think about where your money is going. Is it going to companies that believe in keeping this country, and it's people, strong? Or is it going to a company looking to maximize profits with the few at the top not matter how damaging those profits gains are to the nation and it's people as a whole.
Seriously people, think before you buy.......this is the only way we will get through this, from the bottom up....because there is no such thing as the trickle down theory.
